The territory
Piana Rotaliana is one of the most renowned viticultural areas in Trentino. It has unique characteristics due to a light, shallow and fertile soil. The production area is characterized by the presence of majestic mountains that go to form a “crown” that protects the vineyards from cold winds and retains summer heat, creating ideal conditions for the grapes to ripen. In the lands bordering the Plain, other white varieties are grown instead. These vineyards also characterize the surrounding hills, as well as the Val di Cembra and Val di Non, with soils that give the wine particular fragrances and intensity of aromas.
The history
Only the attentive and loving hands of growers know how to care for the vineyard and reap its best fruits in due time. For more than eighty years the Rotaliana winery has played a very important economic role for its members, who have made viticulture an art and a passion. Alongside agricultural entrepreneurs, for whom viticulture is the primary professional activity, there are part-time farmers who tend small plots of land, thanks to which they supplement the family budget. In some cases, work in the shadow of the vines is flanked by complementary activities such as animal husbandry and tourist reception. The land represents the core of the economic life of the winery members.
