Bleggio landscapes
Bleggio is an open and sunny plateau which overlooks the basin of Comano Terme. From there you can see Brenta, Mount Misone and the lower Valle del Sarca. It is an area characterized by small scattered settlements, green meadows and chestnut forests. It is part of the Giudicarie, at south-western tip of the Province of Trento.
Rango: wandering under the faces
There are few examples of such intact, genuine and forthright rural architecture in Trentino. An environmental merit that has earned Rango the title of one of Italy's Most Beautiful Villages. The uphill village center, with its cobblestone streets and many faces, fountains, and old-fashioned scents, is enlivened in December by one of the most atmospheric Christmas markets, with stalls placed in the courtyards and under the wraps. Porches and androni are the architectural values that give Rango a jovial, enveloping and unique appearance. We are in the Bleggio plateau, land of chestnuts, on the edge of forests and meadows.
The flavors of the territory
Spressa delle Giudicarie is one of the most typical products of this vast territory located between Garda, Brenta and Lombardy. It is an aromatic P.D.O. cheese, among the oldest in the Alps. It is produced by several skimming of milk (hence the name «spressa,» squeezed) using ancient methods, part of the mountain peasant tradition. Maturation ranges from three to six months. It is produced only between September 10 and June 30 from hay milk. It has a limited fat content and semi-hard paste.
