The earth Pyramids of Segonzano
Natural stone sculptures shaped by rain, wind and time: the Segonzano Pyramids are true masterpieces that have endured for a good 50,000 years in the Cembra Valley, along the Avisio River.
A walk among the pyramids
Thanks to the composition of the soil and exposure to the sun, the terraced vines in this area yield exceptional wines. The stone columns are elements that identify the character of the wine producers: tough and perhaps a bit rough in appearance, but also resilient and inextricably linked to their territory.
These extraordinary monuments of nature are up to 20 meters high, and originated from the movements of glaciers some 20,000 years ago. You can walk the trail that starts from the pyramid parking lot in Segonzano and continues in a circular direction for about two and a half hours. The route is well equipped and passable throughout the year.
