The territory
Marzemino grapes ripen in the Ziresi Superzone on the outskirts of the town of Volano, a small, characteristic alluvial area that produces wine of recognizable quality. The selected vineyards are low yielding to enhance the quality of the grapes.
The processing
Winemakers harvest the Marzemino grapes strictly by hand with the valuable support of family members and friends. After delivery to the winery, crushing begins: the must ferments for several days in direct contact with the grape skins. At the end of vinification, the wine has powerful aromas that are strongly balanced on the palate.
The pairings
Marzemino dei Ziresi has been awarded the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO). The name of this wine comes from the presence in the past of numerous cherry trees, which in dialect are called “ziresi”. This wine is excellent with lasagna, roast red meats produced by the Trentino Breeders Federation and cheeses that are born in the dairies of the Trentino valleys.
