Strudel with Fontal di Cavalese cheese, lucanica meat and radicchio
Savory strudel can be a good alternative to pizza or to the more popular savory pie. For this recipe we use some typical products from Trentino: Fontal di Cavalese cheese and lucanica meat, combined with radicchio leaves.
Ingredients
The ingredients for six people are:
1 round puff pastry roll
1 head of radicchio
1 clove of garlic
100 g Fontal di Cavalese cheese
1 lucanica (or speck, if you prefer)
1 egg yolk
salt, pepper, knob of butter
Preparation
Wash the radicchio and cut it into strips. In a nonstick pan add a knob of butter and brown the garlic clove. Add the radicchio and stir a few minutes until fairly dry. Season with salt.
Prepare the lucanica (or speck, if you prefer), cutting it into small pieces (they can be cubes, strips or coarse shapes - just make sure they are not too large).
Roll out the pastry and arrange in the center a few slices of Fontal di Cavalese cheese (not too thin, not too thick). Top the Fontal with the radicchio and the lucanica (or speck) you cut before.
Roll up the pastry and brush the top with beaten egg yolk.
Bake at 200° for about 20-25 minutes and enjoy!
