Melinda

Melinda apples grow in an area ranging from 400 to 1,000 meters above sea level, between the mountains of Valle di Non and Valle di Sole, in the northwest of Trentino.

The special climatic and soil conditions make this area of Trentino among the most ideal in Europe for apple cultivation: the mountain ranges provide protection from the cold northern currents, favoring a more temperate and sunny microclimate; the glaciers ensure fresh water; and the dolomite soil imparts the right crispness and flavor to the fruit flesh.

The apple orchards of Val di Non, in particular, extend all the way to the foot of the Brenta Dolomites, and in spring they turn into a large garden: a huge expanse of white flowers envelops the entire valley, providing a striking and unique panorama.

Founded in 1989, over the years the Melinda Consortium has grown into an international player. However, it has always remained faithful to its commitment to work and care for the land and plants in a responsible and natural way, so as to always guarantee the highest quality of fruit, meet the needs of customers, and recognize a fair and equitable income to the farmers who entrust the Consortium with the fruits of their labor.

In order to enhance the value of second-grade apples and those destined for industrial processing, Melinda has decided to collaborate with various local entities in order to use apples that are aesthetically unsuitable for fresh consumption to create other products. In this way Melinda not only offers customers high quality products, but also reduces food waste and makes its production more sustainable, getting closer and closer to being zero waste.
