Smacafam
A traditional dish, humble but tasty, made in the homes of Trentino families during the carnival period, great to enjoy either hot or cold, as an appetizer, main course or snack.
It is the smacafam (crush hunger, in Trentino dialect), a tasty and hearty dish. Smacafam is baked in the oven and can resemble a rustic savory pie.
Smacafam can have several variations. Some like to prepare its base by using buckwheat flour and by topping it with speck, bacon or lard. Here we propose the most basic version, which has only lucanica.
