Carnival Krapfen

Their history comes from theAustria, where they already appeared inSeventeenth centuryas a holiday specialty. Over time they have also become a classic inTrentino and South Tyrol, perfect to enjoy in company.

Preparation:

  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk, add to flour and create a batter, rest for 10 minutes
  2. add butter, salt, egg and egg yolks, knead and let rise for 45 minutes
  3. Roll out to 1 cm, cut out discs, let double in size and fry at 160° for 3–4 min
  4. Drain, fill with jam and finish with icing sugar
