This story is set in the pile-dwelling village of Molina di Ledro, inhabited between the Early Bronze Age and the Middle Bronze Age. The pile-dwellings stood between the water and the lakeshore at the mouth of the Ponale stream and were often demolished and rebuilt after a fire. Preserved food remains show that the pile-dwellers ate bread, meat, vegetable and grain soups, freshwater mollusks, and wild fruits, especially cornel cherry, perhaps used to make a fermented beverage. Among the finds, in addition to ceramics, are weapons, agricultural tools, spinning, weaving, and metalworking instruments, a canoe carved from a tree trunk, and prestigious objects such as jewelry and bronze diadems.
