Cantina sociale of Avio (Wine cooperative)

Avio Winery harvests grapes that ripen in the wide territory between Avio and Rivoli Veronese, straddling the provinces of Trento and Verona. It stretches along the course of the Adige River, embracing the area enclosed between the castle of Sabbionara and the eight fortifications of Rivoli. The present conformation of this land particularly suitable for vine cultivation is due to the action of Pleistocene glaciers and river erosion.

There were 171 members attending the first meeting in the late 1950s. As the years went by, the cooperative grew in importance until the present day. The winemakers have equipped themselves with state-of-the-art winemaking equipment, enabling them to process 8,000 quintals of grapes per day. Great attention is paid to the quality of the product: the winery staff follows the members with great dedication from the first rooted vines in spring to bottling.
