Consorzio Ortofrutticolo Val di Gresta

The Val di Gresta Fruit and Vegetable Consortium

Over the years, Val di Gresta has become the organic garden of Trentino thanks to the work of its farmers and cooperative organization. Its soils produce fruits, vegetables and other specialties following the method of integrated and organic farming.

  • Founded in 1969
  • 100 members
  • 20,000 quintals of fruit and vegetables each year

The Gresta Valley lies between the Vallagarina and Sarca Valleys and benefits from a more temperate climate thanks to its proximity to Lake Garda. This makes it particularly suitable for growing vegetables, with important crops such as potatoes, carrots, zucchini, and cabbage. The Consortium collects and promotes its members' produce using integrated farming methods, especially certified organic farming. In addition to fresh vegetables, it also offers processed products such as pickles, compotes, syrups, and sauces. Some organic products, including sauerkraut, celeriac, and carrots, are recognized with the Trentino Quality Mark.
