Federazione Provinciale Allevatori

Federazione Provinciale Allevatori (Provincial Breeders Federation)

Landscape maintenance, animal welfare and attention to environmental resources. These three principles are the basis of the farmers' activities. The high quality of the products is certified, while wholesomeness and taste are guaranteed by the production process of cured meats and ready meals. The Federation's policy is to choose animals born and raised exclusively in Trentino. The animals are fed on pastures and in stables with hay.

  • Founded in 1957
  • About 1,150 breeders
  • Nearly 100 thousand animals (cattle, pigs, sheep and goats and horses)

The farms extend from high-altitude pastures to mountain village stables, preserving the connection between animal husbandry and the local area. Calves destined for meat are primarily raised by dairy cows in specialized facilities, with popular breeds such as the Brown Alpine Cow and the Friesian Cow. The Grey Alpine Cow is more common in the Val di Fiemme, Val di Fassa, and Primiero, while the Rendena breed is typical of its valley. For pork, the Federation sources from the only closed-loop farm in Trentino, which allows for complete traceability of the supply chain. The processed products are made in the plant near the store on Via delle Bettine in Trento, fed hay and non-GMO feed.
